Hatha Yoga
Postures are held longer, with time to settle the breath and find alignment before moving on. The first class to book if you have never practised, and a steady way back if it has been a while.
Class guide
Ten group yoga styles run on the mat at Hae Studio in Taman Wahyu, Kuala Lumpur, and every one is 60 minutes. The right one depends on how you want to feel when you walk out, not on how flexible you are. Start from your goal below, then find the class on the timetable.

Guide
Every class is listed at one of three levels. Beginner means the pace and the holds leave time to learn each posture: Hatha Yoga and Yin Yoga. Intermediate means the sequences move faster and assume you know the basic postures: Vinyasa, Power Yoga and Mandala Vinyasa. Open to all means variations are offered throughout, so any level can join: Gentle, Stretch, Inside Flow, Backbend and Chair Yoga.
Levels are a guide, not a gate. Tell the instructor it is your first time and you will be given the variation that fits. The full list with a line on each class is on the mat yoga page.
If you are new, or coming back
Postures are held longer, with time to settle the breath and find alignment before moving on. The first class to book if you have never practised, and a steady way back if it has been a while.
Long held stretches for the deeper tissues, joints and fascia. Slow, calm and still. Also listed at beginner level, so it suits a first visit when you want quiet rather than movement.
Gentle yoga practised seated on a chair, or using it for support. Easy on the joints and open to any age or ability, with no experience needed. Suits anyone who would rather not get up and down from the floor.
If you feel stiff, or want to unwind
Light stretches, mindful movement and deep breathing. The softest class on the mat, and a good pick on a day you are tired.
Long stretches for muscle stiffness, useful after a week at a desk. Suits anyone who sits a lot and wants to move without working hard.
Belongs here too. Long holds let the body settle, so it suits an evening when you want to switch off rather than sweat.
If you want a workout
Breath linked to movement through creative sequences, for practitioners ready to move past the basics. Suits someone who knows the main postures and wants to keep moving.
A stronger, dynamic practice. The most physical class on the mat, so book it when you want to work hard, once the basics feel familiar.
Sequences travel around the mat rather than staying front facing, built on the four elements. Suits a regular practitioner who wants variety in a flow.
If you want something different
Choreographed to music so the movement lands with the beat. Suits anyone who likes moving to a rhythm, at any level.
Heart opening postures, from gentle backbends to deeper expressions, with modifications offered throughout. Suits someone curious about backbends at whatever depth they are working at.
One to one guidance at your own pace, on your own schedule, for anyone who would rather not start in a group. Arranged with the studio rather than booked from the timetable.
Guide
Teaching focus differs by instructor. Doreen Tan teaches Vinyasa and Hatha, Winnie Woo beginner friendly yoga, Laura Yap Power Yoga, Felice Puah Mandala, Grace Khoo Inside Flow, Vern Ong backbends and Emily Ong gentle movement and breathwork. The instructors page introduces them, and the timetable shows who is teaching each class this week.
If this is your first visit, the four class mat trial is RM99 and is for first timers only. A single mat drop in is RM50. The packages page carries the current terms, and the beginner yoga guide covers what to wear and how to prepare.
