First class guide

Reformer Pilates for beginners in Gombak and Kepong

A reformer can look technical when you first see the springs, straps and moving carriage. A beginner class is slower than it looks from outside. The instructor sets the machine, explains each position and changes the resistance for your body.

Guide

What happens in your first class

You will first learn how to get on and off the carriage, place your feet and use the straps. Movements begin with simple patterns so the instructor can see how you move before adding resistance or range.

You do not need previous Pilates experience. Tell the instructor about injuries, pregnancy or recent surgery before class so appropriate variations can be discussed.

Guide

Group or private

A group class is suitable for most healthy beginners who are comfortable following instructions. A private session gives the instructor more time to adapt the machine and is useful when you are returning after an injury, are pregnant, or prefer one-to-one guidance.

Hae Studio offers both formats at Residensi Lakeville in Taman Wahyu, a short drive from Kepong, Selayang and Gombak.

Guide

What to wear and bring

Wear fitted, comfortable clothing that lets the instructor see your alignment. Grip socks help on the carriage. Avoid loose jewellery and arrive early enough to tell the instructor that it is your first class.

Trial packages and current availability are listed on the packages and timetable pages.
